For most women, being almost nine months pregnant means taking it easy, right?

Not for this California mom.

Lea-Anne Ellison of Los Angeles posted pictures of herself lifting heavy weights on Facebook saying, “8 months pregnant with baby number 3 and CrossFit has been my sanity. I have been CrossFitting for 2 1/2 years and … strongly believe that pregnancy is not an illness, but a time to relish in your body’s capabilities to kick ass.”

A lot of people blasted her however, saying it’s a dangerous move.

“This is actually sickening,” one woman commented under the photo. “I hope pregnant woman around the world do not do this kind of crap. I am a crossfit enthusiast but I DO NOT recommend this at all.”

Others were move supportive, however.

“You can do anything while pregnant that your body is accustomed to doing, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. We will never get ahead, ladies, if we judge each other to every last thing,” another woman commented.

“Obstetricians recommend 30 minutes of moderate exercise [for pregnant women] and you don’t want to go to maximum heart rate,” PIX11’s Dr. Steve Salvatore said. “Bottom line, if you want to exercise, talk to your doctor.”

Ellison responded to her supporters Friday saying, “I want to thank everyone for their kind and supportive responses! Haters will hate and that’s okay.”
