Autumn officially begins this weekend, but how will the weather be?

The high pressure that has been giving us the dry stretch these past few days will be moving offshore tonight. A few high clouds are moving into the area overnight. Winds from the south will keep low temperatures to be in the 60s for the city and the mid to upper 50s elsewhere.

Saturday should be dry during the day. Clouds will increase especially in the afternoon as a cold front approaches the area. Showers will develop after 7pm for the city will and last into the overnight. Some of it could produce drenching downpours along with a few rumbles of thunder.  In terms of amounts, we are expecting anywhere from 1/2 – 1″ of rainfall. Highs for the day will be in the upper 70s.


Showers should end early Sunday morning. Skies will begin the clear out as the front moves out and high pressure comes in. In addition, winds will also pick up from the north. By the time the Jets game start late in the afternoon, winds could be has high as 15-20mph. It’ll be cooler with highs at around 70.
