ORCHARD BEACH (PIX11) — Although it’s hard to accept, the summer is pretty much over. So what kind of summer loving did you have – if any?

With all the different ways to get together, being single isn’t how it used to be.

One popular mobile app that probably sparked a few summer romances was Tinder.

It’s an app that connects you with people near your location who share similar interests — where a quick chat can lead to an impromptu drink a block away.

A dating trend that took off overseas this summer was a line of bracelets called “MY single band” — designed to help single people identify each other, publicizing their relationship status to everyone in the room.

And despite what the naysayers think, online dating continues to be a force in launching several summer romances and then some. A recent study showed those who met online were in happier unions that tended to last longer when compared to those who met the old fashion way.

Summer romances may come and go, but on the bright side we now have – as they say – “cuffing season” to look forward to.

I stopped using tinder a few weeks ago… too many douches for my liking lol. My coworker showed me and I’m a big fan of that over the others in terms of actually meeting people vs. just entertainment. It has a different approach that feels less sketchy cause you and your friends essentially act as “wingmen”. I like that it helps you find things to do too. Skout’s okay too, but still has it’s fair share of creepers
