Controversial ‘Tennis Climb’ route sends planes ROARING over Queens neighborhood

QUEENS (PIX11) – Ever since early 2012, the FAA has implemented a new procedure where planes taking off from LaGuardia Airport, creating an irritating amount of noise for residents in the surrounding area.

The noisy new route is called “Tennis Climb” and it has local residents fed up.

One resident who has lived in Bayside for 35 years says it’s “noise torture.” Neighbors estimate noise from the planes starts around six a.m. and goes through the day and night until 1 a.m. every day.
