A counselor at ‘Big Bird’s Playhouse’ camp in Staten Island has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing a camper — less than a month after a similar allegation — according to the DA.
Endrick Torres, 33, of Woodside, Queens, allegedly fondled a 10-year-old girl at least eight times on the camp bus and at a movie theater. The alleged abuse happened between July 1 and Aug. 31, 2012.
The latest arrest came after the girl’s mother saw the camp counselor on a news report detailing his earlier allegations.
She asked her daughter about the counselor all the kids called “Mr. E”, and the girl got upset and told her what happened, according to a DA release.
Endrick, who has been a counselor for four years at Big Bird’s Playhouse, was arrested earlier for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old camper on the school bus. After that incident he was released on $15,000 bond.
He is due in court on Friday, and is being held on $35,000 bail.
