An iconic symbol of racial unity is being re-dedicated after being vandalized.

A ceremony was held Monday afternoon at MCU park in Coney Island for the Jackie Robinson statue. It is part of “unity day” before the double-header between the Brooklyn Cyclones and Staten Island Yankees.

Children from the Jackie Robinson Little League, and former Mets slugger Ed Charles, are expected to be there.

Earlier this month, racial slurs were found written on the statue.
