A lumber truck overturned on the Long Island Expressway Monday, dumping plywood across several lanes and causing extensive delays.

The tractor-trailer flipped around 2:30 p.m. in Old Westbury, according to officials.  The spill caused the immediate closure of all the eastbound lanes near exit 40.

That was eventually lifted around 4:15 p.m., allowing cars to drive in the high-occupancy vehicle lane.

Three eastbound lanes are still closed.
