(PIX11) – Things apparently got a little heated during a Christine Quinn mayoral rally near the now closed St. Vincent’s Hospital.

George Capsis, publisher of a West Village community newsletter, interrupted the rally and reportedly slapped state senator Brad Holylman — who was holding his toddler daughter — and a campaign volunteer.

The rally was held to tout Quinn’s efforts to keep hospitals open. Quinn was not present at the event.

The Daily News reports Capsis was angry the hospital closed because he had to travel to another to visit his dying wife.

Capsis told reporter he slapped the senator because he was a “factual idiot.”
