The hospital technician accused of knowingly infecting dozens of people with hepatitis C plead guilty to his crimes today.

Authorities say David Kwiatkowski traveled the country contaminating people.

He would steal syringes from patients scheduled for surgery — inject himself and then put the needle back.

Even after being fired from several hospitals over drug issues, he was somehow able to keep getting work.

As part of a plea deal, he will serve 40 years behind bars.
