Brooklyn Cyclones to honor Jackie Robinson after vandals defaced baseball legend’s statue with racial slurs

(PIX11) – The Brooklyn Cyclones are now planning to honor Jackie Robinson after a statue of the baseball legend was defaced with racial graffiti last week.

The team plans to hold “Unity Day” on Monday to highlight the spirit of the statue Which represented racial harmony.

The statue depicted Robinson and former Brooklyn Dodger teammate Pee Wee Reese with their arms around each other shoulders.

Monday’s events will start with a re-dedication of the statue.
