Amish Mafia star arrested

A star from Discovery Channel’s ‘Amish Mafia’ is headed to prison after leading police on a chase through Pennsylvania that left one state trooper injured, the Associated Press is reporting.

Alan Beiler, 35, has been sentenced to 23 months in prison after fleeing from a traffic stop last summer.  A state trooper had pulled Beiler over for an expired car registration, when the Amish Mafia star took off, leading the state trooper into oncoming traffic where he crashed and suffered a concussion, according to police.

Beiler was charged with attempting to elude police, drug possession and driving with a suspended license after pleading guilty in May.

He was well-known on the series as a fight promoter and hustler.  “An Amish fight isn’t uncommon at all, once a month I used to have a fight,” Beiler said.  “It gives these guys status and it puts some money in my pocket.”
