Police release new surveillance footage of suspect in attempted rape of Inwood woman

(PIX11) – Police have released new security footage of the suspect in the attempted rape of a woman in Inwood.

The woman was walking her dog near west 212 street on Sunday at about 7 a.m. when the man attacked her from behind.

The man attempted to take off her clothes during the struggle but she was able to fight off the attacker.


The suspect fled the scene when a witness ran over to help the woman.

“I chased him all the way around the corner but then he disappeared on me,” Joe Marrogquin told PIX11.

The woman suffered bite marks on her chest and bruises on her body in the attack.

The suspect is described as approximately 25-30 years-old, 5’11” and 180 lbs.


He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue denim shorts and a brown or red baseball cap.
