HAUPPAUGE, LONG ISLAND (PIX11) – A man was killed early Wednesday morning when his car crashed into a building in Hauppauge, Suffolk County police said.

Police say Peter Fedden of Commack was traveling eastbound on Commence Drive around 12:10 a.m. when he failed to stop at an intersection and crashed his 2008 Honda into a building on Adams Boulevard.

The 29-year-old became trapped inside the vehicle and was extracted by emergency officials.

Fedden was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police have impounded the vehicle for a safety check.
