Family dog missing after Long Island home burglary

(PIX11) – A family dog went missing after a Long Island home was burglarized Monday, Nassau County police said.

According to authorities, the burglar(s) broke into the Merrick Avenue home at about 10:30 a.m through a basement window.

A flat screen TV, X-Box, iPad, jewelery and designer handbags were stolen from the home.

The suspect(s) left the home through the front door. It is unclear if the Shih Tzu mix, named Cookie, was stolen from the home or walked out.
