Wait, what season is it? A chill is in the air for this week’s forecast

An area of low pressure skimmed the Eastern Seaboard, leaving the city with overcast skies for the day.

That along with the northerly winds associated with the off-shore system kept temperatures on the cool side.

Central Park failed to reach 70 for the first time since June 13. The tri-state area was not entirely rain-free;  the Jersey Shore and eastern Long Island got some light rain. Flood warnings were issued in eastern Connecticut, as the area was  hit hard with drenching downpours.

There could be a lingering shower in a few spots early Friday morning, but skies should slowly clear out especially by the afternoon.

Temperatures will return to the lower 80s Friday and Saturday. The next system arrives on Sunday afternoon with showers and potentially strong thunderstorms.
