BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN (PIX11) – Police are looking for one or more gunmen who opened fire on a family sitting outside under a shady tree near a playground on Menahan Street in Bushwick.

Police say right before 2:30 Saturday afternoon two women, ages 37 and 52, and three men, ages 22, 45 and 52, were shot.

All are expected to survive. They were rushed to Kings County, Elmhurst and Brookdale Hospitals.

According to an eyewitness, five teenaged boys ran from Wilson Avenue and were targeting a specific family to shoot.

“The group had been harassing a Young girl at McDonald’s,” Ivet Hernandez told PIX11. “The family went to the 83rd precinct to file a police report and these teenaged boys didn’t like that.”

Ms. Hernandez said she saw the shooting from her third floor window and all the victims are her neighbors.

“They shot the father and the girl’s stepmother” and other family members,  Hernandez said.

“It’s disgusting and scary,” Hernandez added, and the precinct station house is just around the corner.

Police have yet to release a description of the shooter or shooters or to confirm a motive for the shooting.

The 18-year-old girl at the center of the dispute, according to the neighbor, was not at the scene of the shooting.

Instead, the neighbor said she was at her job at McDonald’s.
