The FDNY held its 12th annual Blessing of the Marine Fleet. Fire boats and medical response crafts made their way up the Hudson.

Commissioner Salvatore Cassano says the boats were a tremendous resource during super storm Sandy, helping to rescue many New Yorkers.

The newest fireboats weigh 500 tons each and can pump 50,000 gallons of water per minute.
