Suspected Colombian drug lord to appear in Manhattan court

A suspected Colombian drug kingpin will appear in federal court in lower Manhattan today and a Brooklyn court Thursday.

Daniel Barrera, also known as “El Loco,” will be arraigned on drug trafficking charges.

He’s accused of shipping hundreds of tons of cocaine across the world every year.

Barrera was first arrested in Venezuela last year and sent back to Colombia.

Then, he was extradited to the U.S.

He also faces charges in Florida.
