NASA’s first winged orbiter Enterprise exhibit is reopening Wednesday at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum.

Nearly nine months ago, the space shuttle was damaged after it was left unprotected by Superstorm Sandy. The space craft will be temporarily paired with a new pavilion made out of steel and more resistant against harsher weather conditions. However, long term plans for shuttle’s platform remains unclear.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Wednesday to reveal the Intrepid’s new “Space Shuttle Enterprise” exhibit.
