CONEY ISLAND (PIX11) – NYPD divers have just recovered the bodies of two people who fell off a personal watercraft and into Coney Island Creek yesterday.

The bodies have been identified as William Tom, 44, and his good friend’s wife Celine Fu, 29, both of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.  They were celebrating the 4th of July with friends at a beach near Kaiser Park when they decided to take the watercraft out into Coney Island Creek around 8:20 p.m. Thursday.  The woman, investigators say, lost her balance when she attempted to wave to friends on the beach, sending both of them into the water.

Neither person was wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident.
