NEW YORK (PIX11) – It’s not an owl this time, but a puppy trapped in the front of a Florida car.

Sheriff’s deputies worked for hours on the 4th of July, trying to free the little puppy that was trapped under the hood of a car.

Now nicknamed “Road Dog”, the puppy was stuck between the steering mechanism and the axle of the car.

The car traveled several miles around South Florida before the driver realized the dog was there.

Puppy saved

Amazingly, the pup wasn’t seriously hurt.

It’s not clear how the dog got wedged in there in the first place.
