NEW YORK (PIX11) – Jay z has just changed music forever — and it has nothing to do with the quality of his music.

It has to do with the way he got his music out to the public.

Five days before the release of his 12th solo album, ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ — Jay-Z made it available for free to the first million Samsung users at the Google Play android shop.

This did a few things — his album officially went platinum before it even came out — it also gave him – and Samsung — automatic promotion.

Now, don’t go thinking Jay-Z is giving anything away.

It’s all part of a $20 million deal between his company ‘Roc Nation’ and Samsung — 5 million of which is for the pre-album giveaway.
