Mark Sanchez buttfumble

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Mark Sanchez’s most embarrassing play of 2012 is now preserved for cringe-worthy posterity as a silent YouTube movie ‘An Unfortunate End.’

Last year on Thanksgiving, Mark Sanchez found a new low before a national television audience by running directly into his own lineman’s butt with such force he fumbled the ball directly into an opposing player’s arms for an uncontested touchdown.  And so the buttfumble was born.

“I guess [I was] more stunned than anything. Just like a car accident. I was like, ‘Whoa. What just happened?’ Then, the ball’s gone. It was weird …  It’s embarrassing. You screw up the play, and I’m trying to do the right thing. It’s not like I’m trying to force something. I start to slide, and I slide right in the worst spot I possibly could: right into Brandon Moore,” Sanchez later told the Associated Press.

Sportscenter elected the Turkey Day flub as the “Worst of the Worst” play — it’s been that way for 32 weeks and counting.
