Men’s Warehouse ousts Zimmer, founder and face of the company

He’s not going to love the way this looks.

George Zimmer, the founder of Men’s Warehouse Inc. and face behind the “I guarantee it” catchphrase was dismissed as executive chairman Wednesday, the company announced.

The men’s apparel chain didn’t state the reason for Zimmer’s dismissal but proceeded to end the former president and chief executive’s tenure as chairman. The announcement also influenced company shares to sink as much as 6 percent.

Zimmer, 64, is most famous for staring in Men’s Warehouse commercials and telling viewers, “You’re going to love the way you look. I guarantee it. ”

Men’s Warehouse, founded in 1973, also moved their annual shareholders meeting scheduled Wednesday to a later date in order to renominate board directors without him.
