Suspect in shooting of 9-year-old Bronx girl turns himself in to police

THE BRONX (PIX11) — A 17-year-old sought in the shooting of a 9-year-old girl in the Bronx has turned himself in.

According to authorities, Billie James turned himself into police Sunday night.

Cops say Amanda Chauan was playing with her brother on Bailey Avenue in Kingsbridge when James Rode by on a bike and shot her in the stomach.

She was released from the hospital yesterday.

James is facing several charges including attempted murder and assault.
