BROOKLYN (PIX11) – A livery cab driver was stabbed in the eye by an umbrella-wielding passenger around 5:30 pm Thursday in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, according to police.  Officers initially responded to a car crash, and found the injured driver inside his 2000 Mercury at Lott Ave. and Thomas Boyland St.

After the stabbing, the driver lost control of the cab and crashed into several parked cars before running onto the sidewalk and coming to rest against a house.  No pedestrians were injured during the accident.

Witnesses say a man and a woman were seen running from the car.
