FLORIDA (PIX11) — Ex-NFL receiver Chad Johnson nearly dodged jail time for recent probation violations but it was after he jokingly slapped his attorney’s butt in court, the judge decided to send him to the slammer.

Johnson, 35, was in a Broward County, Florida courtroom Monday for a hearing in connection to a domestic violence charge where he is accused of head butting ex-wife reality TV star Evelyn Lozada.

At some point during the court hearing, Johnson playfully slapped his male attorney’s rear-end. The gesture infuriated Judge Kathleen McHugh who sentenced him to 30 days in jail. Judge McHugh accused Johnson of not taking the proceeding seriously.

In addition to the jail time – where he’ll probably get his fair share of butt slapping —  Johnson’s probation has been extended to December 21.
