First-time, Tony-nominee Shalita Grant was sound asleep when she was awaken by a call from her publicist.

The Broadway newcomer had been nominated for Best Actress in Leading Role in a Play  for “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.”

However, she’s been wide awake since….enjoying the moment and continuing her role as Cassandra beside heavyweights David Hyde Pierce and Sigourney Weaver.  She confesses celebrating by buying a new pair of shoes.

She’s obviously a shoe lover because the petite actress couldn’t wait to lift her leg up on the PIX11 Morning News and show her latest footwear.

Her play “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” is currently at the Golden Theatre through July 28th.
