It started as a massive sinkhole in their Bay Ridge neighborhood. Now, ten months later, residents of that neighborhood say they still have construction trucks and cones blocking their driveways and parking spots.
A handful of agencies are still working on the area where is still work being done here.
When PIX11 News arrived, we found John, a lifelong resident, off of third avenue and 92nd street trying to get answers from construction crews. Among the questions on his mind that day was, ‘Why are they still putting cones out?’ and ‘Why are they always parking their trucks (there)?’
PIX11 reached out to several city agencies — the Department of Environmental Protection says their part of the work was done when they fixed the sinkhole. The Department of Sanitation says they are still cleaning the street– although there was no garbage in sight. Off-camera Coned crews promised just two more weeks and they would leave.
After 10 months, residents like John can’t be blamed if they aren’t getting their hopes up.
