CHICAGO – What’s better than pulling a cookie from a cookie jar? How about finding a winning lotto ticket?

That’s what happened to Ricardo Cerezo. The bank was threatening to foreclose on his home, when he came across a cookie jar filled with old lottery tickets. He happened to come across a big winner: Nabbing $4.8 million.

“When I realized we had all six numbers, it was like whoa, that shocking moment like can this really be,” Cerezo said. “I called my son over and asked him to double check this. And he looks it through and goes, yup looks like a winner.”
Cerezo said he’ll use the winning to pay off his home in full.
