HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KTLA) — The father of one of four teenagers charged with attempted murder in the brutal beating of a man with their skateboards in Huntington Beach insisted his son was innocent Monday.

Huntington Beach police said the teens beat the 25-year-old man in a laundromat near Murdy Park after a fight broke out between skateboarders on Friday night.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was rushed to UCI Medical Center and underwent emergency surgery.

He remained hospitalized Monday in critical condition.

Four teenagers were charged and taken to a juvenile detention center. Police did not release the teens’ names because of their ages.
