THE BRONX (PIX11) — A huge, 5-alarm blaze kept firefighters busy Thursday morning, after it broke out in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx.

According to authorities, the fire started in a garage and spread to several other buildings including a five-story apartment building.

Nearly a dozen cars were also reportedly on fire. This all unraveled near East 226th Street and White Plains Road.

Commuters who ride the 2 and the 5 trains were slammed with delays as a result of the fire.

Trains were bypassing the station at 225th Street — in both directions shortly after the blaze erupted.
