QUEENS (PIX11) — The hunt is on for a man following the alleged sexual assault of a 7 year old girl.  It happened in South Ozone Park, Queens. A police mobile command unit sits near the scene of the crime on 115th street and Sutter avenue as investigators pour over clues.

The girl told cops a man grabbed her at about 6 Wednesday night and forced her into an driveway.  That’s where he allegedly forced the girl to perform the sex act. A neighbor who asked that his name not be published told PIX 11 he heard the commotion.

” He snatched her,”  he said that’s when he forced himself on the girl. ” Her little brother saw it and ran away.” He went on to say “She was so traumatized, she was scared.”  the neighbor says the guy escaped but he was caught on surveillance video.

Carmen Gonzalez lives in the house next to where the attack took place. “I’m very terrified. I’ve lived here 25 years and nothing like this has ever happened.”  Gonzalez says kids often play in the area . “They are good kids . I hope they arrest this guy as soon as possible.”

The girl was taken to a local hospital.  So far police have not released a description or any information on a suspect. The investigation continues.
