NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – A Pennsauken, New Jersey mother made her young son believe he was terminally ill to collect thousands in donations.

35-year-old Susan Stillwaggon told her 9-year-old son Nick that he had stage three Hodgkin’s Lymphoma when he was perfectly healthy.

Stillwaggon held fund-raisers where she raised thirty-five hundred dollars. She pocketed all the funds.

Police say that the woman even had her own husband fooled. She would create pretend doctor appointments, as well as fake progress reports.

After an anonymous source tipped off the police, the mom confessed to everything.

She is being charged with endangering a minor and theft by deception.

Stillwaggon is currently hospitalized for suffering a mental breakdown.
