Nassau University Medical Center is operating on emergency power after a power outage early Monday.

According to officials at NUMC, a burned-out switch caused the outage.

A spokeswoman for the hospital says the situation has not affected the safety of any patients, nor the quality of treatment they are receiving.

Electricians are working tirelessly to fix the problem.

They hope to have power restored ASAP.
