Man carjacks cabbie then leads police on high speed chase

A yellow cabbie was carjacked Monday morning in Manhattan sparking a police chase across the George Washington Bridge.

Authorities have arrested 40-year-old Brian Charles Ambrose in connection with carjacking turned high speed chase.

Cops finally caught up with the man in Leonia, New Jersey, using the cab’s GPS system to track him down.

Investigators say the whole thing started about 7:30 a.m. in Chelsea.

That’s when Ambrose‚Äôs alleged to have punched the taxi driver in face, making off with his medallion from the corner of 8th Avenue and West 23rd Street.

Police say Ambrose tried to escape on foot, before being tackled by cops.

He’ll be brought back to New York to face charges.
