In the book, Stelter writes about Bell being the driving force behind Curry leaving the Today Show, even christening the operation to remove her from the co-anchor chair “Operation Bambi.”

MANHATTAN (PIX11)– It was like a newsroom version of “Mean girls”, where Ann Curry wasn’t allowed to sit at the popular table at lunch, and they relentlessly mocked her for it.

A new book entitled “Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV” revealed that the last months for Ann Curry at the Today Show, was pure “professional torture.”

According to author Brian Stelter, there was “a general sense of meanness” on the set of the popular morning show, where the backstage antics went from embarrassing to just plain mean spirited.

One antic that sticks out in particular, centers around executive producer Jim Bell making a blooper reel of Ann’s worst on-air errors, which, according to Stelter, Jim Bell denies.

There was also mention of a photoshopped “Who Wore It Better” of Curry in a bright yellow dress alongside Big Bird that was circulated around the control room.

In the book, Stelter writes about Bell being the driving force behind Curry leaving the Today Show, even christening the operation to remove her from the co-anchor chair “Operation Bambi.”

Ann Curry went on to become the national and international correspondent for NBC News.

after what NBC did to Conan, i stopped watching their late shows. after that tearful goodbye of Ann Curry, i rarely watch NBC –i could go for weeks (into months) without them. they have fallen in the same category as FOX on my books.

Please you cant even compare NBC to FOX. NBC and most other networks are useless liberals defending our good for nothing president that has this country going down the drain.

Good Lord man, it's our useless congress that has the United States going down the drain. And Fox News? Please…its as fair and balanced as any other network…but in a conservative direction. If it was balanced, you would see it with a liberal point of view once in a while that wasn't being beaten down and laughed at. No balance in what Fox does, no…not at all.

Ann you are my favorite and you are too good for the Today Show! Better things will come your way. Nobody deserves to be treated in the manor that you were treated. Karma is will get them for what they put you through!
