You remember Anthony Weiner.  How could you not?  He is the former Congressman who was caught showing his – well – you know – on Twitter to women he barely knew.  He lied about it before finally admitting to it and resigned from office.

Now he is talking about running for Mayor of New York.  His political flirtation is being met with ridicule and a lot of bad Weiner puns and jokes.

The New York Post has been particularly, well, New York Postish.  Here is last week’ headline.

I will let the cover speak for itself.

No one is hoping that Weiner runs for mayor more than the New York Post headline writer.  When the Congressman was going through the scandal, it was a daily Weiner roast in the Post.

Anthony Weiner is a smart man and was an effective and popular congressman before his Weiner tweets.  He will study through focus groups and polls if he can win.

He may just run.  He has probably been putting up with jokes about his last name all of his life.  We will just have to get used to it
