Thieves make off with 5.5 tons of Nutella chocolate spread

BERLIN (PIX11) — Authorities in Germany are on the hunt for a group of chocolate-craving thieves who snatched up a trailer full of Nutella.

According to authorities, the thieves made off with 5.5 tons of the chocolate-hazelnut spread from the parked trailer in the town of Bad Hersfeld this past weekend.


The load of chocolate goodness has a reported value of $20,710.

The German news agency DPA reports that the gang of thieves are also responsible for stealing a delivery of energy drinks from the same location.
