NEW YORK (PIX11)- People living in public housing are crying foul.

The New York City Housing Authority decided to hike parking fees by four hundred percent.

This month NYCHA told residents they were switching over to a reserved parking system.

The new system will raise the cost for disabled and elderly residents from $60 a year to $272 per year!

Adding insult to injury, residents say they’re expected to pay in one lump sum.

People on fixed incomes say they can’t afford it.
