NEW JERSEY (PIX11)- He almost got away with it.

34-year-old Veniamin Konstantinovich Balika of Illinois tried to steal 42,000 pounds of Muenster cheese from Wisconsin.

He reportedly showed workers at K&K Cheese a fake document and they loaded all of the cheese into his truck.

The refrigerated truck had been parked and running in a lot for two days. Cops found it and discovered Balika was trying to sell the cheese out of it.

He was busted at a rest stop on the New Jersey Turnpike on Thursday.

The net worth of the Muenster is $200,000.

Balika is out on bail.

The company does not want the cheese back. A different company from Texas is considering buying it and shipping it back to the lone star state.
