lil wayne epilepsyLil Wayne has epilepsy.

It’s the medical confession the rapper recently made to explain his recent hospital stay and series of seizures that sent the social media rumor mill go into overdrive.

Lil Wayne called into Los Angeles radio station Power 106 where he opened up about being epileptic.

“The bad news is, I’m an epileptic, so I’m prone to seizures,” Weezy revealed during the Thursday interview. “This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures; y’all just never hear about it.

“This time it got real bad because I got three of ’em in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to, like, 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died soon. That’s why it was so serious.”

Earlier this month, Lil Wayne was hospitalized following an apparent seizure. Despite being in stable condition in a Los Angeles hospital, TMZ reported that the rapper was on his death bed and was read his final rights.

“I can’t be upset at that. I get upset at my kids when they do things that I tell ’em not to do; I can’t get upset at TMZ for doing what they do,” he said. “The truth isn’t good enough for them, so they gotta twist everything up.”

Some speculated his hospital stay was a result of overdosing on sizzurp – a controversial concoction where cough syrup is a main ingredient.
