“I would not allow anyone in my family to go and I would not go to the Nassau Coliseum.” said Attorney Joseph Dell.
Dell represents more than 100 current and former Nassau Coliseum employees have started the process of filing lawsuits alleging long-term exposure to asbestos at the Coliseum.
The workers are plumbers, carpenters and mechanics as well as a widow of a heating and air conditioning technician who filed a wrongful death suit.
Dell is seeking $500 million to $1 billion on behalf of the workers.
In court documents, Dell said asbestos was found in several areas of the Coliseum including in the loading dock, seating area, concession area and also in public areas.
PIX 11 called the County Attorney John Ciampoli for comment on the claims but calls were not returned. SMG owns the Nassau Coliseum and declined to comment.AlertMe
