Actor Clive Mantle is recovering after his ear was bitten off during an attack at a hotel.

One of the stars of HBO’s fantasy hit series “Game of Thrones” is recovering after the actor had part of his ear bitten off.

Clive Mantle, who played Lord Greatjon Umber in Season 1 of the series, was attacked at a England hotel this past weekend where he was pinned down and a portion of his ear was bitten off.

According to the BBC, the 55-year-old actor was thrown to the floor by a 32-year-old man during the brawl that erupted after Mantle has asked the man and his friends to quiet down.

“He is very shaken and shocked by what has happened, you don’t expect this kind of thing to happen in a hotel,” Mantle’s rep told BBC in a statement released Monday. “The part of the ear that was bitten off was found and sewn back on.”

The attacker, who wasn’t immediately identified is expected to be in court next month where he will answer to assault charges.
