Man and woman found dead in Long Branch home; woman was reportedly having trouble with jealous ex

Two  people are dead in what Long Branch, N.J., cops are calling a double homicide.

Witnesses say police arrived at the two-story house that is divided into apartments just after 4pm Monday afternoon and quickly turned the home into a crime scene.

The bodies, believed to be a man and a woman, were discovered inside the house at 418 Sairs Ave. at the corner of Eastbourne Avenue.

Susan Galancia lives across the street and said at first she suspected a drug bust.

“At first I thought it was just drugs because we get that around here but when they put up the yellow tape I knew it was more than drugs. ”

The Asbury Park Press is reporting that a man on the scene told them the dead woman is his 35 year old niece, who is from Chile, and that he believed she was with her boyfriend. who is the other dead person.

Galancia  says she has friends in the building who were not allowed to leave and were questioned by police.  She says there were concerns about a woman who lived there. Galancia says the woman had trouble with an ex lover.

“He was jealous and she took out an order of protection.”

Police aren’t talking and still haven’t said if they are dealing with a double murder or a murder suicide.  The investigation is  continuing.
