Two plainclothes NYPD police officers shot a man after he fired at them in Brooklyn, authorities told PIX11 News.

The two officers approached the 20-year-old near Grafton and Livonia St. in Brownsville suspecting he had a gun, police said. The teen then opened fire, and cops fired back, police said.

The teen was taken to Brookdale Hospital in serious condition, but he is suspected to survive.

Second shooting Brooklyn

The police-involved shooting comes just two weeks after cops gunned down what they said was an armed teenager in Flatbush. That shooting has led to a widespread outcry and unrest and protests on neighborhood streets.

A gun was recovered at the scene, according to police.  It is unclear how many shots were fired.

You sound like you don't have ANY idea what you are talking about. There is NO EVIDENCE stop and frisk is making ANYONE safer, as by the stats of the NYPD.

I feel like this. If you are a teen or an adult if you shoot at someone then you deserve to be shot back at and hit. Why do people need to have a gun?

    • Wendy

People need to have a gun to protect themselves and their well being, Would you rather have a gun and be able to use it for self-defense or not be armed and taken advantage of. Understandably this individual's gun most likely was illegal, it is always good to have protection.
