A former NBA star has taken a new job as a crossing guard just to receive health care.

Adrian Dantley, who represented the USA in the Olympics and played forward for the Utah Jazz, is now making $14,685, according to Deadspin.com.

Although he was always thrifty with his money and has retained much of it, Dantley says he paid 17K in medical expenses out of his own pocket last year.
