Celebrating Grand Central’s 100th birthday

The centennial celebration at Grand Central shines new light on the iconic building. 2013 marks the 100th birthday for the transit hub. Throughout the year, various artists will present shows and works. There are multimedia installations, old photos, transit-themed exhibits, and various interpretations of the building (including one made from legos).

Beginning March 25, 2013 and running through March 31st, what has been described as “a herd of thirty colorful life-size horses” will peacefully “graze” and periodically break into choreographed movement —or “crossings”— accompanied by live music. in Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall.
