Construction worker secured, first responders using hand tools to extricate him

First responders are using hand tools and a backhoe to extricate a 2nd Ave. Subway Project worker who became trapped in mud and debris 50 feet below ground Tuesday.

According to the FDNY a doctor is in the tunnel with him, but it will take time to get him out of the mud.

With rescue vehicles lining 2nd Ave. a crowd gathered as responders tried to free the trapped construction worker.
