CaptureA St. Patrick’s  Day weekend brawl broke out on a New Jersey Transit train Saturday afternoon that got out of hand so quickly that the train had to be stopped.

The fight broke out about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, leading to the ejection of 16 passengers during the fracas on the train on the Bergen-Port Jervis line, according to reports.

The northbound train had just left the Secaucus station when the fight broke out.

The train ended up stopping in East Rutherford to get the violence under control and get rid of the offending customers. Two were hit with a summons for disorderly conduct, New Jersey Transit spokesman John Durso Jr. told the Star Ledger, and a person was treated by EMS.
